The latest gadget
to enter the tablet world faces praise and skepticism.
On
Friday, October 26, 2012, Microsoft released their Surface RT Tablet equipped
with the Windows 8 system. The gadget is supposed to rival Apple’s iPad, but
some are saying Windows latest tablet is subpar.
“This
tablet has a chaotic home screen. It doesn’t have a true organized way of
finding things," said Lead Systems Engineer for Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Gregory Taylor,
Operations Manager for PC Services & Server Services at Chicago Mercantile
Exchange also said, “Its actual design lacks the substance of an Apple
[product]. Given that we test any new electronic device to keep our company
current, we believe consumers will prefer the appearance of an Apple [product].”
Despite
the opinions of these tech experts, critically acclaimed gadget website CNET.com
gives the tablet 3.5 out of 5 stars calling it “innovate, elegant, powerful and
versatile” according to their review.
MSU Music major Kylie Doebler said, "I think it looks awesome, but I just bought the iPhone5 so I can't afford the tablet right now."
The new tablet by Windows is
available for purchase here.
