Obama supporters hope for the best as the President starts his second term.

On Tuesday, November 6th, groups of students at Michigan State University gathered around tvs and computers anxiously watching as the polling results slowly started to roll in.

Shortly after 11 p.m. EST time, the results were in and it was apparent that Barack Obama had won the title of President yet again.

Now, roughly two weeks after the election, students are hoping that the best is truly yet to come.

Crucial topics such as the economy and gay marriage are still on everyone’s minds post-election.

“I’m hoping that gay marriage will be made officially legal and that it’s not a loose promise,” said MSU sophomore, Jonathan Evans.

DePaul University student Tiran Adams said, “He needs more time to finish what he started. Now, that he’s re-elected, I expect his to do so.”

This is not a drill.

Eyebrows raised as students of Snyder-Phillips Hall discovered the fire alarm went off for a very good reason.
The alarm sounded shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday evening after a steam pipe burst on the terrace level of Phillips Hall according to third floor Resident Assistant Kalieha Stapleton.
Several students filed outside assuming that it was a routine fire drill only to discover the opposite once an East Lansing fire truck arrived on the scene, according to MSU Psychology major, Hadley Kleinschmidt
About 30 minutes later, students were allowed back into the building, but the cafeteria was off limits until 6 p.m. according to Hadley Kleinschmidt.
An anonymous source says that The Gallery was closed temporarily so that kitchen workers could take the time to dispose of any remaining food that students left on the tables when the alarm sounded.
No one was injured.

Is the Windows 8 Surface RT Tablet fantastic or a flop?

The latest gadget to enter the tablet world faces praise and skepticism.
On Friday, October 26, 2012, Microsoft released their Surface RT Tablet equipped with the Windows 8 system. The gadget is supposed to rival Apple’s iPad, but some are saying Windows latest tablet is subpar.
“This tablet has a chaotic home screen. It doesn’t have a true organized way of finding things," said Lead Systems Engineer for Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Gregory Taylor, Operations Manager for PC Services & Server Services at Chicago Mercantile Exchange also said, “Its actual design lacks the substance of an Apple [product]. Given that we test any new electronic device to keep our company current, we believe consumers will prefer the appearance of an Apple [product].”
Despite the opinions of these tech experts, critically acclaimed gadget website CNET.com gives the tablet 3.5 out of 5 stars calling it “innovate, elegant, powerful and versatile” according to their review.
MSU Music major Kylie Doebler said, "I think it looks awesome, but I just bought the iPhone5 so I can't afford the tablet right now."
